We’re Working Hard to Meet Our Goal!
The Farm Place is in planning stages for the next phase of The Farm, which includes a barn for farm animals, along with a board room and office space. The new building will reside on our ten-acre property adjacent to the home we built to provide space for a foster family. It will be available to children receiving services from DCS, court-ordered supervised visitation with family members, therapy sessions, and more. We believe providing this space alongside farm animals in a farm setting will provide a more safe, relaxed, and therapeutic environment.
On Friday, October 25th a fundraiser to raise funds for the barn and offices was held on the front lawn of the LaGrange County courthouse. While employees from King’s BBQ grilled chicken, Farm Board members and volunteers prepared the meals. Generous donations from JoJo’s Pretzels and E&S Sales, along with hundreds of home-made cookies, made it possible for The Farm to offer chips, cookies, and bottles of water to the BBQ chicken meals. T-shirts and sweatshirts were also available for purchase, along with Buy-a-Brick pavers.
The weather was wonderful and there were smiles all around as we hustled to keep up with the orders. We sold nearly 550 chicken halves! Thank you to everyone in the community who came together and helped us to raise almost $3,700, putting us that much closer to groundbreaking for the barn.
