The Farm Place Inc. was happily surprised to receive a $2,600 donation from the American Austin Bantam Club. Each year the AABC holds an auction at their annual club meet, and the proceeds are donated to a non-profit at the next annual meeting. This year’s meet was held at the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center in Shipshewana. LaGrange County Community Foundation Gives $20,000 Grant

The Farm Place Inc. has received a $20,000 grant from LaGrange County Community Foundation to support construction of the Animal Companionship Center at The Farm Place. The award comes from the Community Impact Grant at the Community Foundation. The grant funds will be used for construction of the Center, where children and adolescents will be reunited with their families and receive supervised visitation and relationship skill building in a safe, private environment with the added benefit of animal companionship. Lakeland High School Senior’s Project Helps The Farm

Madison Keil is a senior at Lakeland High School who decided to take on a senior project in order to earn a Leading EDGE diploma. The Leading EDGE program requires students to go beyond basic studies by participating in career internships, community service projects, and choosing a senior project that will somehow benefit the community. Madison learned about The Farm Place and talked with Farm board member Sue Keenan. Sleep in Heavenly Peace Donates Ten Beds From an article in the February 28, 2020 issue of the LaGrange News: Since October 2018, Sherilyn and Randy Lackey of LaGrange in addition to other volunteers have built and assembled 190 beds associated with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. It's Tri Kappa Week! The Farm was honored to have members of Tri Kappa Mu of LaGrange visit the Farm house this week. Tri Kappa members included Emily Harris, Amy Whited, Andie Myers, and Laura Hartman. Board member Keith James led the group on a tour of The Farm's eight-bedroom house, which will be leased to a licensed foster care provider in the near future. November Fundraiser is a Pleasant Surprise During the month of November, Flagstar Bank offices in Indiana and Michigan held a fundraiser for the Farm. Karen Fleisher, Branch Manager of the Flagstar Bank in LaGrange, presented a check in the amount of $4,300.00 to Farm Place board member Margaret Malone.
